Dealing with Canada Wedding Planning

Allie Walcher

Lately, the Peaceable Kingdom, as Canada is called, has opened its gates to a lot of immigrants. It is nowadays the nation that seems to be formed by the greatest number of foreign settlers and it continues to be the wealthiest and healthiest democratic country in the world.

That is why when dealing with Canada wedding planning there are no established rules. Actually there can’t be any Canadian tradition in as far as weddings are concerned because for the native citizens they either follow the French tradition or the English one.

Canada wedding planning is free of any norms and rules. Everybody may respect whatever tradition. Future brides and grooms are offered the freedom to organize their weddings the way they most like. Recently some Canadian provinces have decided to legalize marriages between gay and lesbian persons.

Consequently, Canada wedding planning is free of any kind of constraint. It is the space where couples may apply their own ideas on how their wedding should be organized.

However, there should be preserved some aspects of the etiquette. To have a proper wedding that you can be proud of, you should always incorporate the traditional wedding dress and the groom’s clothes, the best men and the bride’s maid so on and so forth.

When only one of the partners is Canadian citizen then they should take care to follow the right procedure when thinking of Canada wedding planning so that it would be legal. There are no residency requirements for the foreigner. They should both apply for the marriage license and conform to the laws that are applied in the respective province. It is imposed that both partners should be at least 18 years old, otherwise they are minors and don’t have the right to get married.

If the foreigner does not know either English or French, the two official languages in Canada, then they should hire an interpreter for the ceremony.

So there might only be problems regarding the legal side of their Canada wedding planning. For the rest there are no differences as compared to any country. In fact the advantage of organizing a wedding on the territory of such a huge country is that there are more alternatives for the choice of a location, of the date, of places for spending the honeymoon and obviously, for finding the perfect wedding planner to take care of everything.
